Bachelor of applied science in engineering physics from University of British Columbia, 1972; was selected in 1983 for Space Team Canada; assigned for the later cancelled mission CANEX-2 in 1985; then backup for STS-52; selected on 27.98.1998 as NASA astronaut; hobbies: Flying, especially aerobatic flights, physical fitness, scuba diving, parachuting; returned to Canadian Space Agency in 1999, but was still an active CSA astronaut; now wants to tech at the University of Western Ontario.
