Graduated from Moscow Aviation Institute, 1977; was selected as cosmonaut on 03.03.1992 (NPOE-10); OKP (cosmonaut basic training): 10/92 - 2/94; hobbies: History of aviation, astronautics, astronomy, sports; was assigned as flight engineer for Soyuz TM-24, but the crew was grounded because of heart problems of Commander G. Manakov; by order of the president of RKKE, on 6 February 2003, Pavel Vinogradov was assigned to the post of the chief of the 291st Department (commander of the cosmonaut detachment of RKKE) while maintaining of the post of instructor-test-cosmonaut; he had undergo an intensive medical examination at the Hospital named for Burdenko; since 30.10.2007 deputy to the head of the RKKE flight test center (Kaleri).
