Bachelor of science in electrical mechanics from the National University of Mexico (UNAM - Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico), 1978; master of science in electronics from the highest national school of tele-communication in France, 1980; Ph.D. in telecommunications; from 1983 until 1988 he worked for the Instituto de Investigaciones Electricas - IIE; since 1989 he works for the Departamento de Electronica y telecomunicaciones; currently he is Director General of the Departamento de Electronica y telecomunicaciones; Mexican candidate for STS-61B.
