Bachelor of arts in mathematics from Cornell College, 1972; master of science in electrical Engineering, and degree of electrical engineer from U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, 1977 and 1979, respectively; Colonel, USMC, Ret.; hobbies: Playing the piano, gardening, electronics, spending time with his family, all types of sports; later he began graduate work at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas; completed his M.D. degree (doctor of medicine) and he is now an associate professor of medicine at Baylor College of Medicine.
