Graduated from Military Engineering Academy, Monino, 1969, with an engineering diploma in electronics; was selected from Air Force as cosmonaut on 03.03.1962 (Vostok); OKP (cosmonaut basic training): 4/62 - 21.01.1965; then Colonel, Soviet Air Force; was assigned as double for Voskhod 5; later Chief of geophysical laboratory of TsPK; since 1991 retired from active duty; since marriage to a former cosmonaut candidate her family name is Pitskhelauri.
