Graduated from Higher Air Force School in Orenburg, 1963; graduated from Aerospace Institute Moscow, Department Akhtubinsk, 1973; test pilot, airforce; was selected in January 1979 for Buran flights (GKNII-1); he performed six testflights with the Buran training model; OKP (cosmonaut basic training): 1/79 - 11/80; retired because of medical reasons; then he worked at the Gagarin Center; later test pilot for project "Alfa" und then until 1993 test pilot for "Thermoplan"; was since 1999 advisor for a national aviation commitee.
