Bachelor of science in physics with a minor in mathematics from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. in geophysics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology; for the Space Team Canada selected; but after his retirement Michael McKay came to the group; held the Chair in Exploration Geophysics at the University of Calgary from 1987 to 1997 and is currently a professor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics.
