In 1971 the institute of physical culture at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles - ULB finished; 1974 he finished graduate study and he became the candidate of medical sciences (surgery and midwifery) in the medical department ULB; in he 1974 finished the course of tropical medicine in the institute of tropical medicine of prince Leopold in Anvers; in 1977 was obtained the certificate of specialist in aviation medicine in the institute of aviation medicine of royal Air Force in Farnborough in Great Britain; since May 01, 1985 he worked by the substituent of the chapter of the department of orthopedic traumatology in the hospital of Erasmus; in 1994 he headed the research laboratory of traumatological orthopedics in the medical department of the Brussels university; selected as one of five candidates from Belgium for European astronaut kit in 1977; but was not selected to the detachment.
