BSc, Physics, Dalhousie University (1989); MSc, Applied Physics, Stanford University (1994); Ph.D., Applied Physics, Stanford University (2000); has ten years of experience as a Systems Engineer and is currently employed at Naval Sonar Engineering in Halifax. He has also served as a member of Canada's national canoe-kayak team and represented the country at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He was recently the Assistant Chef de Mission for Team Canada at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
